LIGO Hingoli refers to the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO)-India, a gravitational wave observatory being built in the Hingoli district of Maharashtra.The observatory will be the third of its kind, made to the exact specifications of the twin Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatories (LIGO), in Louisiana and Washington in the U.S. LIGO-India will work in tandem with them. |

The district came into existence by division of Parbhani district on 1st may 1999.
